I don't like line infantry slugging matches because they are a war of attrition. Of course, I use Imperial Splendour which does some tweaking, but even in vanilla ETW they have similar uses.īasically, light infantry has three main advantages in their respective order of importance: they have skirmish mode which allows wide spacing and crouched fire/reload they have longer range than line infantry, so they can snipe from afar without taking damage in return and finally, they are far more accurate, which coupled with their crouching allows them to trade volleys with line infantry with minimal losses for themselves and maximal losses for line infantry.
